How to play would you rather as a couple
Would you rather works best when you answer fast and argue about it afterward. Sit next to each other with one phone between you. Each card gives two options, and you both pick the one you would choose. There are no right answers, only the ones you would actually pick.
- Read the card out loud. Each of the two options has a You button and a Partner button.
- Tap You on the option you would choose. Then your partner taps Partner on theirs. Go with your first instinct and save the debate for later.
- Once you have both picked, the card shows whether you matched and updates your running count.
- Take a moment to defend your choice. The reason is usually better than the pick.
- Tap Next question for a new card. A round ends after 50 cards, or whenever you feel like stopping.
What your match count means
The match count is the number of cards where you both picked the same option. It is a score for fun, not a grade on your relationship.
A high count means you tend to want the same things on a night off: the same kind of trip, the same half of the dessert. Enjoy it, then look at the few cards where you split. Those are the ones with a story behind them.
A low count does not mean you are a bad match. Two people can choose differently on almost every card and still be great together. One of you wanting the cabin while the other wants the city is what makes planning interesting, and every split tells you something your partner would enjoy that you might not have guessed.
Somewhere in the middle is just as good. The number matters less than the conversations the cards start, so treat it as a running joke and keep playing.

Either of you can pass on a question or stop at any time, with no explanation needed. There is no skip button, so if a card does not suit you, both tap any option, move on to the next question and leave that card out of the conversation. Or just close the page.
Ask about a choice because you are curious, not to prove your partner picked wrong. "Tell me more" keeps things going. "How could you pick that?" only works if you are both laughing.
A few cards are a little flirty. If one of them is not right for tonight, go to the next one without making it a topic. And if a card turns into a twenty minute conversation about the trip you should book, let it. The next question can wait.
