The Compromising Conflict Style
If compromising is your style, you look for the middle. You are quick to offer a deal: your film tonight, mine next week. Fairness matters to you, and you would rather settle something now than argue about it for an hour.
The strength is speed and goodwill. Disagreements end before they get heavy, and neither of you walks away empty handed. The cost is that splitting the difference can leave both of you half satisfied. On the big questions, a quick trade can skip over what each of you actually wanted, and the topic comes back later.
You make up with a peace offering. A cup of tea, a small favor, or an offer to do it their way next time is your way of saying we are fine.
What helps: before you offer a deal, ask what matters most to your partner about this, and say what matters most to you. Sometimes there is an answer where nobody has to give anything up.
